Struct VirtualSpace

Source
pub struct VirtualSpace<T: ?Sized> {
    size: usize,
    data: NonNull<T>,
}
Expand description

A wrapper over memory that is defined by its physical address. We map this memory in virtual space, and return a pointer to it.

Fields§

§size: usize§data: NonNull<T>

Implementations§

Source§

impl<T> VirtualSpace<T>

Source

pub unsafe fn new(physical_start: u64) -> Result<Self, VirtualSpaceError>

Create a new virtual space for the given physical_start on the given type T.

§Safety
  • Must be a valid physical address
  • The memory must be defined by default. if its not, use new_uninit instead
Source

pub unsafe fn new_uninit( physical_start: u64, ) -> Result<VirtualSpace<MaybeUninit<T>>, VirtualSpaceError>

Create a new virtual space for the given physical_start on the given type T. But will assume that the memory is not initialized, and will return a MaybeUninit pointer.

§Safety
  • Must be a valid physical address
Source

pub unsafe fn new_slice( physical_start: u64, len: usize, ) -> Result<VirtualSpace<[T]>, VirtualSpaceError>

Create a new virtual space for the given physical_start on the given slice type [T].

§Safety
  • Must be a valid physical address
  • The memory must be defined by default. currently, there is no way to create a slice of MaybeUninit
